Marimo Candy Club June 2016 Box Review

Marimo Candy Club is a Japanese snacks subscription box service that sends out a whole box full of Japanese snacks, DIY candy kits, and sweets. They also have a shop where you can buy the snacks separately called Marimo Marshmallow Store.

Marimo Candy Club offers three different boxes to choose from with a base price of $11.99 for the Kitten Kibble Pack, $20.99 for the Sweet Tooth Pack, and $29.99 for the Premium Pack. They have free worldwide shipping. The box that I'll be reviewing is the premium pack, which includes 8-10 items.

The box comes with a sheet of paper with all the snacks name and links to see videos, pictures, and descriptions of each items. It also comes with a small card, a quick Japanese language lesson.

Pandaro Butter Cookies
The butter cookie tasted like the usual Danish cookies that come in a blue tin. It's a very simple cookie and I think it would be nice as a snack during the day at school or work.

Happy Kitchen Candy Donuts
This was one of my favorite DIY candy kit I've made so far. It was fairly simple, just a lot of parts and steps. I didn't try this one because I was afraid of how it will taste >.<  If you check out my Instagram, you can find the results. Sakura_Harano

Sumikko Gurashi Collectible Gum
The packaging is super cute and it comes with two packs of gum with 4 gum balls inside. The flavors range from bubble gum to apple to lemon. It also comes with collectible stickers from San-X.

Giant Strawberry Caplico
This is a one of the regular flavors, strawberry, but in a bigger form. There's two part to the Calpico, the upper strawberry part and the inner chocolate part. It's hard to explain the texture but it really melts in your mouth and the cone is your usual wafer cookie.

Kansai Dashi and Soy Sauce Potato Chips
This potato chips is seasoned with Dashi, which is soup stock, and soy sauce. While I was eating this, it really reminded me of miso soup, probably because of the Dashi. It's something that I would buy again if I found it.

Crunky Kids Chocolate Bites
These are bite sized chocolate snacks that are filled with malted puffs. They were very light in density and the flavor was great. It's similar to Nestlé Crunch bars or Hershey's krackel snacks.

Candemina
These are fruit punch flavored gummies with a sour coating. They are very chewy and you can really taste the fruit punch. The sourness goes away pretty quick.

Candy Gummy Tree (Grape)
This one didn't work out so well >.< Maybe I should've watched a video instead trying to understand the instructions given. It's a two step DIY where you dip the plastic tree on the apple favored water and grape powder. The part I messed up was that I put water in the grape powder when you're not supposed to >.<

Nerunerunerune (Grape)
I was close to messing this one up as well. The foam is grape flavored and it comes with crystal rock candy that you sprinkle on top of the foam. It's okay but I don't really like the taste that much.

Harvest Sweet Biscuits (Butter & Toast)
These biscuits are buttered and topped with sugar with a hint of saltiness. This will go great as a snack or along with a drink such as orange juice or tea.

This box was great, they really put an emphases on DIY candy kits as well as snacks with cute packaging. I really enjoyed all the of the snacks, especially the chips and candemina. What's great about this subscription box is that if you liked something, they have it in their shop so you can buy more. I would recommend this to anyone who like Japanese snacks or really likes doing DIY candy kits.
