Snackoo Mixed Box Review

Snackoo is an online shop created by Stanford and Berkeley grad students that sells lots of high end and limited edition Japanese snacks and sweets, including boxes. Snacks and sweets from Royce', Tokyo Banana, Meiji, etc.

Snackoo offers three different box types, Savory, Sweet, and Mixed. All of them with the price of 24.99 with 10 different snacks and sweets. They have free shipping for orders above $49. The box I'll be reviewing is the Mixed Box.

It came with a nice personalized note.

Purun Purun Qoo: Muscat Flavor
This was amazing, I was surprised by the taste and texture. I thought it was a drink but it's more like a drink and jelly, made from agar agar. Also, it kind of tastes like honeydew melon compared to grape but either way it's delicious.

Pocky: Yubari Melon
I'm so surprised with the flavor, it was like I ate a melon. The scent was also the smell of melons. It must be one of the more premium of the Pocky flavors and I hope I can find more to buy.

Kinoko no Yama: Rich Cacao
This is like the regular Kinoko no Yama but more premium. It taste more like dark chocolate, probably because of the cacao. It's slightly bitter but still enjoyable.

Jaga Pokkuru
These were great, they are potato chips that are in the shape of French Fries. They're very light and natural with the taste of oil. Luckily they sell a 10 bag pack on Snackoo.

Fuwarinka: Soft Candy
This soft candy is rose flavored. The taste surprised me, it really tasted like what rose water smells like. It's similar to skittles, very chewy and was enjoyable. Plus, it comes with health benefits such as collagen, royal jelly, and vitamin C.

Lemon Cheesecake Pocky
This is one of the most popular and new flavor of Pocky this year. It really had the taste of cheesecake with a hint of lemon. I believe this was a collaboration with a milk tea drink.

Meiji Rich Matcha Biscuits
These biscuits, similar to Oreos, are filled with matcha cream. Compared to regular matcha, this one has a deeper flavor, more bitter than usual. As a matcha fan, I love it but if you don't like matcha then it's not your type of sweet.

UHA: Premium Pure Blueberry Gummy
These are different from all the gummies I've tried before. It's more premium, the outer shell replicates real blueberry so that when you bite into it, it's like you're eating the real thing. There's also blueberry seeds in it to make it realistic.

Pretz: Hokkaido Butter
These are similar to the Roast Pretz flavor, it's light and sweet with a hint of butter. Since these are giant Pretz, they'll be great as a side snack with tea or orange juice.

Pudding Club: Pudding Tarts
When you first open it, you can definitely smell the pudding flavor. The cookie itself doesn't have much of a taste and the pudding cream on top is very light. Overall it was delicious.

Cookie & Chocolat
This is the kind of cookies you find in those blue tin Danish butter cookies. The top is sprinkled with chocolate and the inside is flavored with cacao. Overall it was pretty light and simple, it's like an afternoon snack.

 Hori: Premium Corn Chocolate
This was sort of like a crispy treat but with corn puffs and white chocolate. It's very light and it feels healthier than most crispy snacks. Again, this snack seems good along with tea or with juice.

Morinaga BAKE: Creamy Cheese
This was cheesy (pun intended). I personally love it, it was like eating cheesecake with extra cheese. With my limited Japanese, the cheese mix include Camembert, Cheddar, and Cream Cheese. It's great but if you're not a cheese person outside of cheesecake then it might not be your type of snack.

Starting with the packaging, the logo is cute and the box is styled in a way that you are very excited to open it. There was a great variety of the type of snacks and sweets. I loved all the snacks here but my favorites were Fuwarinka, Purun Purun Qoo, Premium Pure Blueberry Gummy, and the Melon Pocky. I explored around their website and they have a lot of hard to find snacks and they would be great to buy as a gift. I recommend this to anyone who wants a versatile snack box.
