Okashda PuchiBox November 2015 Review

Okashda is a new monthly subscription box service that sends a box full of Japanese candy all the way from Tokyo. They will do their best to include limited editions, seasonal, fun, unique and rare snacks into the box. The November box is their debut normal box although they did have a limited edition Halloween box for October.

Okashda offers two different boxes to choose from with a base price of $20.00 for the PuchiBox and $30.00 for the OkiBox. They have free shipping worldwide. The box that I'll be reviewing is the PuchiBox, which includes 6-8 full sized snacks.

They offer 3 plans: 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months. You save money as you buy a longer plan and they are all non-recurring payments. When you first open the box, an item description sheet is on the top.

Strawberry Gummy
These are tightly condensed gummy with the taste of strawberry fruit juice. The initial taste is very weird but towards the end, the taste of strawberries come out.

Dagashi Yoccyan
This is dried fish surimi that has been cut up. Most people would tried to avoid dried fish snacks but I actually enjoyed this. It's bit spicy and salty but overall good.

Puccho Cola
These are cola flavored puccho. This candy isn't overly sweet, just right, and is similar to starburst. It does taste like cola and is a bit fizzy but towards the end, it tasted a bit minty.

Chocoball Caramel
These caramel balls are coated with chocolate. When you bite into the candy, the chocolate immediately dissolves in your mouth. The caramel at first taste like a tootsie roll but at the end, it's your usual caramel taste.

Glico Biscuit
This biscuit is a cream sandwich that is high in calcium and vitamin, great for kids. The snack is pretty light and has a hint of lemon, good with a cup of tea.

Calbee Potato Chip
There's two types that you could've gotten. Either potato chips with salt and seaweed or jerky flavor. I got the salt and seaweed one. These were nice and light, not too greasy. The slight seaweed taste made the chips delicious.

Chip Star Sweet Potato Chips
The chips are purple sweet potato flavor with the sweetness brought by brown sugar. These chips are delicious and they really taste like sweet potatoes. It's rich in flavor which makes it hard to eat more than a piece at a time.

Ramune
Ramune is a popular Japanese soft drink that has a marble sealing the bottle. This is a light tablet candy that taste like ramune. This taste like bubblegum and lemon-lime and it's similar to sweet tarts.

Black Thunder Chocolate Bar
This is a cookie bar coated with chocolate. It's actually pretty good and it taste similar to a brownie and an Oreo. Nice that it came with two.

Okashda is definitely one of the subscription boxes that's going to grow big, they are starting off great as a fairly new service. The snacks were fun to eat and review. For 20 dollars, you get a good amount of snacks for your money. There was a great diversity between savory and sweet snacks. Plus, they have limited edition boxes such as Halloween and Christmas box.

Check out Okashda and subscribe today!  June 22, Okashda announced that it will be closing down at the end of June. For more closure info, check their Facebook
